GREEN POWER is a division of Immortals, made solely for the purpose of saving us from the adverse effects of overuse of man-made resources which is culminating into an ever-growing global issue, called Global Warming. By encouraging the use of Solar Power, we wish to not only reduce the overuse of conventional fuels and resources, but also want to educate our present and future generations, that we have been quite ignorant to the vast clean and green energy sources readily available to us, namely the one, the only – our SUN.
Quite literally, our motto and tagline means, we will help you harness the energy of our SUN and in turn you will save extortionate amounts of money on your electricity bills. It’s a deal you wouldn’t want to decline. Clearly, who wouldn’t want to save money and do good towards our environment! We’ll help you be ‘good Samaritans’ and change the world. It’s our honour and pleasure to make a difference, so LET’S SAVE EARTH TOGETHER!
On-grid or grid-tie solar systems are by far the most common and widely used by homes and businesses. These systems do not need batteries and use common solar inverters and are connected to the public electricity grid. Any excess solar power that you generate is exported to the electricity grid through net metering.
Solar energy is generated either for self-consumption or for export through the bi-directional meter to Power Grid. The net difference between energy generated & consumed is indicated by-directional meter. (In some cases, instead of adding credit to your electricity bill, the bill is nullified, depending on the state you reside in and energy provider.)
An off-grid system is not connected to the electricity grid and therefore requires battery storage. An off-grid solar system must be designed appropriately so that it will generate enough power throughout the year and have enough battery capacity to meet the home’s requirements, even in the depths of winter when there is less sunlight.
The high cost of batteries and inverters means off-grid systems are much more expensive than on-grid systems and so are usually only needed in more remote areas that are far from the electricity grid.
Now that you know the better choice, we’re sure you’d like to know which solar panel is used in our installations.
We use Monocrystalline Solar Panels at Green Power.
Monocrystalline solar panels have the highest level of efficiency at 15-24%
They require less space compared to other types due to their high efficiency
Manufacturers state that this form of solar cell lasts the longest, with most giving them a 25-year warranty
They perform better than the other types of solar panels, in low levels of sunlight, making them ideal for cloudy areas
